BCG Digital Ventures

Sparking creativity within the minds of future innovators.

Contractor: Overbury

Architect: HLW

Within the eight-story, 377,000 sq. ft. mixed-use development located in Fitzrovia, the new office space for BCG Digital Ventures on Level Four showcases both classic and inventive joinery items.

Pioneering Design

Incubating the world’s next generation of pioneers, the innovation centre challenged HLW to design a space that showcased a future way of working not only to their employees but to clients as well.

Incorporating open-plan work and collaboration areas, flexible high-tech venture suites, and biophilic designs to help feed the minds of future innovators.

BCG DV'’s top requirement was to achieve a net-zero carbon development making their offices one of London’s first ‘all electric’ buildings, perfectly aligning with Thorpes’ goals and objectives this project was one to be passionate about.

Recognition

Not only did BCG’s new office space get nominated as a finalist for Mixology’s ‘Project of the Year’ award but it was also put forward for British Council for Offices awards and was a deserving winner of two titles in the Commercial Workplace Award, both regional and national.

The BCO's annual Awards Programme provides public recognition for top-quality design and functionality and is a benchmark for excellence in workplaces and so our team is proud to have contributed to such an intricate and striking project.

The Design

From breakout benches to an IT genius bar our FSC-approved Oak veneer is showcased throughout the 30,750 sq. ft. space, neatly complemented by a number of materials to create a clean and sleek finish.

An undoubted highlight of our package is the entry feature wall, also known as the ‘Jewel Box’ which features a deconstructed version of the DV logo, located in the heart of level four.

Designed by HLW and created with six millimetres of toughened glass, a dichroic three-meter chill film and recessed LED light strips.

This use of glass, dichroic film, and light results in an ever-changing colour effect. Described as a “reflection of their personality”, this bespoke creation adds creativity to a modern look whilst welcoming colour into the office.

The continuous use of cork and veneered paneling throughout has guaranteed excellent acoustic performance in multiple working areas of the office including the immersion room, classic meeting offices, and telephone booths.

Working on this project was a delight and we couldn’t be happier to provide the world’s leading business builder with their new collaborative and modern working environment.
