Meet the Team #8: Robert Byrne, 3D Draughtsman
Stepping into the newly appointed role of 3D Draughtsman, Rob has hit the ground running since joining Thorpes. Now that he’s settled in, it’s time to get to know him a little better.
Rob’s Story
Rob joined the construction industry in 2011 and has built up experience across a range of roles, primarily within design and technical positions. His interest in the industry started early, and after completing his degree in Architectural Technology, he began his career in construction.
When asked what he enjoys most about the industry, Rob said:
“I like seeing the final product and knowing how it all goes together, including all the parts you don’t see on the surface.”
As Rob explains, his role might sound straightforward: producing shop drawings for client-required joinery items. In reality, the design process is rarely simple and often involves a great deal of problem-solving and coordinating information from multiple trades.
Outside of work, Rob enjoys spending time at home with his newborn and family. When he does get a bit of free time, he likes building Lego models and watching a range of sports.
Rob has become a valued member of our team and we can’t wait to watch his journey unfold at Thorpes.
