Thorpes Joinery are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to take on the role of an Estimator.
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a challenging and rewarding role within our company.
The successful candidate will join our Commercial and Estimating team and ultimately be responsible for delivering accurate project estimates, working closely with the project team, and ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the process.
The role will provide a fantastic scope for professional development with the opportunity for formal training, and requires someone who is accomplished at building and maintaining relationships.

Skillset
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator to join our growing team, preferably with a background in the construction industry.
Overall, we are looking for a candidate who:
Experience in estimating, with a proven track record in pricing projects valued over £1 million.
Strong knowledge and experience in joinery, with a particular focus on timber and joinery techniques.
Background in fit-out or shopfitting sectors preferred.
Proficient in Excel and estimating software, with the ability to quickly generate accurate budgets.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Confident and professional when attending client interviews and meetings.
Highly flexible, hardworking, and willing to take initiative to ensure successful project delivery.
Preferred Skills
A background or qualification in timber/joinery or a related field is highly desirable.
Experience with high-end or bespoke joinery projects would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Below is a summary of the key responsibilities that form the foundation of this role.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects in excess of £1 million, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budget.
Work closely with the project team to assess project requirements and provide timely budgets and quotations.
Price joinery works with a thorough understanding of timber and joinery construction techniques.
Contribute to project meetings and interviews with clients, offering expert advice and representing the company with confidence.
Ensure all project estimates reflect the highest quality standards and are aligned with client expectations.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the efficient delivery of all estimates within deadlines.
Utilize Excel and other estimating software to produce clear, well-structured budgets and cost plans.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced project environments.
Maintain excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accurate, competitive pricing.
