So, what’s the role?
Thorpes Joinery is currently looking for a candidate to operate our Stores department.
This role includes works in connection with the issuing of materials, PPE and tools, maintaining efficient stock levels, purchase orders and a variety of other tasks.
Reporting to the Shopfloor Supervisor, the successful candidate will integrate themselves into our management framework, and efficiently operate the Stores Department.
Interacting with the members of our production team and installation team to ensure that the correct equipment and materials are issued in an effective and smooth manner, maintaining a safe and tidy workspace, recording and checking environmental credentials and many other responsibilities, forming a key part of our overall process.

Skillset
The role requires a conscientious approach and a willingness to learn, demonstrate strong organisational skills and be able to communicate with various parts of our company. We would expect the successful candidate to play a key role in developing the role to take on additional responsibility in the future, through development and training.
Personality and enthusiasm are important.

Possesses strong communication skills and can think on their feet
Has a good level of physical fitness
Open to additional training
Able to multitask
Is organised, and can work in a professional manner
Wants to progress and develop
Is computer literate
Is able to make their own decisions.
Experience
Forklift training is advantageous.
Working hours
The working hours are set however, overtime is available subject to workload.
Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
Friday: 07:00 - 13:00
